Heyward gets some PT

Jason Heyward got the call to the bigs today. But he'll have to wait a couple years before he gets that call in April-September. He's getting some playing time today VS the Mets. I don't believe he has an at-bat yet. I will update later.

Heyward just got his first AB. A strike out on a pretty pitch on the outside corner. The guy is huge! 6-5 230 LB. He'd certaintly be a big target if he gets moved to 1B. Looks like a really nice prospect.

Heyward gets some PT

Never have heard about this guy 14 until you had said something. Looked him up on baseballamerica.com and am now reading that he is rated the second best prospect in the braves organization. Good thing to know also that he is a hometown hero from the metro Atlanta area. His hometow is only 10 minutes from where I grew up. You got to love it how the bravos bring up these Georgia boys.

Ron,

Some people say Heyward is a better prospect than Schafer. He'll probably more to 1B if Teixeira leaves. If Tex gets resigned, he's more of a leftfielder type. Heyward, Schafer, and Francoeur might make a terrific outfield in a few years. I'm going to try and put more Braves' prospect info on here.

About 14's Blog about Sports that don't suck.
The title says it all. I like the NFL and the MLB. Pretty much everything else sucks. I don't follow college sports. This blog will focus on the Braves in the MLB and the Titans in the NFL. But mainly the Braves. I will also throw in other MLB comments(mainly complaints). Enjoy.
